Southwest Electric Co. is a family-owned and operated company with a rich history in valuing its employees and fostering a family-oriented atmosphere. This year, we are celebrating our 75th anniversary which highlights our growth from our humble beginnings in 1947 as a single electric motor repair shop in Oklahoma City to operations in four states, offering products and services worldwide. As we continue to grow, we’re taking a look at the top reasons why employees, new and old, are loving their Southwest Electric Co. careers.
1 – Professional Skill Development
Our employees’ professional and personal growth, training, integrity, and satisfaction are important to us as a company. You build great companies similarly to all great sports teams. The company is only as good as the players on the roster that work in unison for a common goal! It is the attention to detail and the preparation you put into your game plan that makes the team successful. Southwest Electric Co. believes in building a great team with a deep commitment to each other’s success. We do this by fostering a can-do attitude and offering various continuing education and professional training programs for our employees to stay competitive.
We recognize our employees are the backbone of our success. Our crews are built with a mix of experienced employees willing to teach and apprentice employees excited to learn. The people are the beating heart of our company, and we are dedicated to engaging their professional growth and creativity. Some of the ways we do this are through training, cross-collaboration, lunch-and-learns, seminars, and a commitment to building a better tomorrow and growing better together with innovation and integrity.

Our core values are key in understanding how our organization operates as a whole. For that reason, they set Southwest Electric Co. careers apart from similar companies. We believe if you succeed, we as a company succeed. Recognize that the value in “Taking Action” is being proactive and possessing a can-do attitude. We exemplify “Being the Solution” by asking questions, embracing challenges as opportunities to hone our craft, and solving problems that others say can’t be solved while providing the best possible solution to each and every customer. We strive to “Grow Better Together” by investing in our people with training and development programs as well as technology and a commitment to developing long-lasting loyal partnerships with our employees and customers with compassion and integrity.
