    Sr Financial Analyst (Oklahoma City, OK)

    Summary:

    Southwest Electric Co. is looking for a Sr. Financial/Systems Analyst to work in our OKC, OK. corporate offices. The ideal candidate will have a passion for implementing and configuring new technology (ERP’s, rbots, Power BI, MS Dynamics, etc.) process improvement, financial auditing, and control systems. This individual will also need to provide accounting, financial analysis, variance analysis, forecasting, modeling, and reporting for the Company with a major focus on supporting operational management to help achieve Company objectives and to support the CFO/VP of Finance on special projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • You will represent the Accounting / Controllership function as business processes/systems change and new systems processes/systems are developed and implemented;
    • Perform period-end closing processes.
    • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
    • Identify trends and significant changes, prepare estimates and write a summary of findings and conclusions.
    • Analyze financial statements and reports to summarize and interpret current and projected financial results for other managers.
    • Research to confirm and substantiate proper treatment for significant and unusual transactions.
    • Monitor compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company procedures.
    • Review, investigate, and correct errors/inconsistencies in entries, documents, and reports.
    • Install, modify, document, and coordinate the implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.

    • Bring structural experience/knowledge regarding fundamental accounting processes and related structural elements in the following areas:
    • GL and reporting structural data elements
    • Vendor master data flow through to payments cycle
    • Customer master data flow through to collection cycle
    • Order fulfillment cycle, including job costing for manufacturing, field service and repairs

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business (accounting major preferred) or related field

    Motor Repair Technician (Nashville, TN)

    Summary:

    Repair Technicians must understand motor electrical connections and power supply panels with the ability to operate safely to complete motor testing. The ability to use a megger, high potential tester, volt & amp meters. Must be able to read and record critical measurements with micrometers. Skilled in reading dial indicators, checking shaft and rotor runouts. Knowledge dismantling, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and assembling a variety of rotating equipment including, AC and DC motors.

    Responsibilities:

    • Measure and record mechanical fits using: calipers, indicators and micrometers.
    • Set-up and operate cutoff saws, band saws, arbor and hydraulic press, stand and surface grinders
    • Examines parts and estimates the time required to make repairs
    • Inspects completed machine work for accuracy
    • Able to balance rotors and armatures in stand balancer. Balance using portable balance equipment to perform trim balancing either on site or in shop.
    • Electric motor repair understanding the testing required; insulation to ground, polarization index, high potential testing, voltage and current measurements and equipment needed.
    • Able to work in overtime situations as required.
    • Safely operate various overhead cranes, forklifts, coil lifter, enerpac hydraulic system, and various handheld power tools.
    • Perform insulation resistance (megger), and other tests as required.
    • Perform preventive maintenance activities on all company equipment.
    • Operate vacuum ovens, Baker Surge tester, Core tester, hydraulic bearing pullers, forklifts and pallet jacks.
    • Operate high voltage test panel for test running motors.
    • Perform welding and brazing operations
    • Support supervisors with various other plant assignments as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) two years mechanical training at a Technology center or 4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of training and experience.
    • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of electric motor repair and/or manufacturing operations. Duties require verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to identify potential repair/manufacturing problems, and recommend potential solutions.
    • Ability to interpret blue prints and drawings.
    • Reading and interpreting nameplates and engineering instructions.
    • Ability to read and complete OD sheet checklists.
    • Must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and physical.

    Customer Service Representative (Motor Shop - Nashville, TN)

    Summary:

    Southwest Electric is looking for a seasoned Customer Service Representative in our Nashville electric motor repair shop. The Customer Service Rep will be responsible for handling all commercial activities from the receipt of a purchase order to shipment, as well as providing follow-up customer support after shipment for Electric Motor Shop in Nashville, TN. Previous electric motor experience is highly desired. Mechanics with customer service experience are highly preferred.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Review quotation documents and purchase orders and reconcile any differences
    • Enter new orders into the Company business system
    • Develop order development sheets (work scope) based upon quotation documents and customer purchase orders
    • Act as the primary communication liaison between Operations and the customer from the beginning to the end of the order
    • Support staff on assigned project-based work
    • Perform job cost review upon completion of a project and prepare billing summaries and other information necessary to facilitate invoicing the customer
    • Prepare project documentation (instructions manuals, etc.) and mail to the customer
    • Provide tours of the plant for customers and/or guests
    • Provide training, guidance, and procedures for new employees
    • Quote new equipment and parts and follow up

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • 3-5 years experience in an Inside Sales/Customer Service role within a manufacturing environment

    Assembly & Stacking Technician (Various Shifts in Oklahoma City, OK)

    Summary:

    Southwest Electric Co. is looking to add a few Assembly Technicians to its manufacturing plant in South Oklahoma City, OK. The Assembler /Stacker must be able to demonstrate the ability to assemble different components, parts, or sub-assemblies throughout the entire assembly process. Read, and understand manufacturing instructions, blueprints, process documents, and bills of material. The ideal Assembly and Stacking Technician will have good hand and eye coordination with demonstrated excellent manual dexterity. Assembler/Stacker must be able to lift 50 lbs. Assembler Stackers provide support to our transformer manufacturing operations. Interpret and understand manufacturing instructions, and transformer manufacturing operations. 

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Must be able to work 3rd shift and work overtime. 9pm-5:30am and possibly 7pm-5:30pm 
    • Must be able to read a tape measure and mics. 
    • Must be able to read and understand manufacturing instructions and bill of material (BOM). 
    • Performs all necessary work to take data and make calculations for winding all sizes and types of transformer coils. 
    • 10% shift differential added to base pay. 

    Qualifications:

    • HS Diploma or GED 
    • Ability to pass a national background check and drug screen. 
    • Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs.

    Welder and Fabricator Summary (Various Shifts in Oklahoma City, OK)

    Summary:

    Southwest Electric Co. has an immediate Welder opening in our Oklahoma City plant. The welder should proficiently use the equipment below to build leak-free transformer tanks, rigging, cabinets, and other components that conform to specifications. Good fit-up experience is a must. The work must be accomplished safely, within standard times.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Able to weld MIG, with some TIG welding, grind, cut, blueprint reading, read tape measure, layout, fitting, squaring, Arc gouging, operating cutting torches, and plasma cutter AWS standards
    • Fabricate components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces, set up and measure assemblies, and select appropriate methods
    • Must know and understand weld symbols
    • Weld cover and perform various tank modifications
    • Reviews manufacturing instructions, diagrams, charts, and repair orders to determine work scope
    • Regularly attends work as scheduled
    • Follows safety rules and/or guidelines while performing daily work. Completes process control records

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • This position requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience in welding and fabrication
    • The successful completion of an accredited welding course is desired
    • Able to stand, stoop, and bend, sometimes for long periods. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs repetitively. Must be able to work in a sometimes hot, dusty, noisy environment without abnormal adverse effects
    • Comfortable with using the following equipment & tools: personal protective equipment, hoist, motorized pallet jack, welding equipment, MIG, TIG, and stick, plasma and acetylene torches, arc gouging equipment, tape measure, square, grinder, magnetic base drill, chipping tools, pliers and clamps, hydraulic pump and cylinder set, taps & dies, other common hand tools

    Field Service Technician II (Oklahoma City, OK)

    Summary:

    Candidate must possess a complete understanding of electric motor (AC and DC) operation and the associated controls. Technician will proficiently perform installation, alignment, and balancing of rotating equipment in a site-specific field location with limited supervision.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Complete proficiency performing installation, alignment and balancing of rotating equipment
    • Work with crew lead and junior employees to provide training and supervision
    • Proficient use of micrometers and calipers to measure critical machine fits
    • Understand sleeve bearing and ball bearing operation
    • Ability to teardown, clean and assemble mechanical apparatus and components
    • Install new or modified equipment at customer’s facility to insure full functionality according to specifications with limited supervision
    • Provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment
    • Provide communication link between the customer and the company to insure that effective service is provided to the customer
    • Analyzes inspection findings to determine source of problem and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action
    • Conduct safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers with limited supervision

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), minimum of 3 years direct hands on related experience in repairing and maintaining electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
    • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of 3 years of related experience is required
    • Must be able to pass various drug screens required by customers and DOT
    • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
    • Must possess own assorted hand tools to perform the related tasks
    • Ability to install, align and balance rotating equipment
    • Ability to identify potential maintenance problems, and recommend potential solutions

    Sr. Substation Technician (Nashville, TN)

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to perform all aspects of substation services (repair, processing & testing) and demonstrate an exceptional understanding of transformers, construction operation and the associated controls.
    • Ability to perform in shop and field transformer testing for Power Factor, Excitation and resistance readings per NETA/ANSI Standards and maintain operational mechanical systems including pump operations, valve operations and oil processing units.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Troubleshoot and test transformers using various methods and testing equipment including partial installation of transformer components.
    • Verify repairs using various start-up testing procedures.
    • Conduct acceptance testing and preventative maintenance in accordance with the published testing procedures.
    • Operate specialized test equipment including but not limited to: Power Factor Tester (DOBLE), Megohmmeters, AC/DC volt-ohm-millimeters, various kinds of hand-held power and non-power tools, etc.
    • Ability to make electrical measurements, mechanical adjustments, assemble and disassemble parts/equipment correctly.
    • Read and understand instruction manuals.
    • Maintain a professional attitude when representing the company during phone or personal contact with outside vendors, customers or service providers etc.
    • Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear.
    • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.

    Motor Winder (Oklahoma City, OK)

    Summary:

    Provide winding support on various kinds of electric motors based off wiring diagrams and repair orders. Manufacture and install from wound and random wound coils on AC/DC electric motors, generators, armatures, rotors, stator coils and related electrical components.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Reviews wiring diagrams and repair order or examine sample coil to ascertain type and size of wire specified, and type, size, length, circumference, of coil to be wound.
    • Installs coils in stator.
    • Cut wire to form leads.
    • Connect coils by means of silver soldering.
    • Test coils for winding continuity.
    • Install leads to windings by means of hydraulic crimping.
    • Completes Process Control Records completely and accurately.
    • Safely operate various overhead cranes, forklifts, and various handheld power tools.

    • Observe all safety procedures and use of proper protective gear.

    Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of basic electric concepts, hydraulics, and electrical and mechanical systems.
    • Must demonstrate troubleshooting skills utilizing Megger, Fluke, Ohm, Hi-Pot and Multimeter equipment, and test instruments.
    • Ability to read charts, diagrams, drawings, and blueprints.
    • High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED
    • 2+ years’ experience winding, servicing, and repairing industrial electric motors.
    • A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in electrical/mechanical repair, motor shop servicing or completion of an accredited EASA or military training program.
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team as applicable.

    Responsibilities:

    • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
    • Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
    • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
    • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

    Motor Repair Technician (Nashville, TN)

    Summary: 

    Southwest Electric Co. is looking for an AC/DC Motor Repair Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or just a good wrench turner to join our Electric Motor Repair Shop in Nashville, Tennessee. Or, if you’re an auto or motorcycle mechanic and looking for a loyal, honest, and family-oriented company with great pay and benefits; then we highly encourage you to apply! 1st and 2nd shifts available and all the OT you want to work. We will also train you to do the following.

    Essential Duties:

    • Balance rotors and armatures in stand balancer. Balance using portable balance equipment and perform trim balancing either on-site or in the shop.
    • Electric motor repair understanding the testing required; insulation to ground, polarization index, high potential testing, voltage, and current measurements, and equipment needed.
    • Perform insulation resistance (megger), and other tests as required.
    • Operate high voltage test panel for test running motors.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) two years mechanical training at a Technology center or 4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of training and experience.
    • Must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and physical.
    • Complete a satisfactory ISNetworld MVR and nationwide criminal background check.

    Buyer (Nashville, TN)

    Summary: 

    Southwest Electric Co. is looking for an experienced Buyer to assure all our locations purchase and receive materials on time and at economical costs. Prepare national contracts for items where applicable.

    Responsibilities:

    • Use of MRP – Utilizes current SWE MRP module and other tools; suggests improvement for the efficient flow of purchasing goods and materials. Communicates to individual sites Purchase Orders and date of delivery. Confirms delivery with vendor 3 days prior to the expected date.
    • Provide Economy – Identifies materials that are shared amongst divisions. Researches potential vendors for the ability to service multiple locations at an economic measure. Consults Operations and Engineering where applicable for vendor selection.
    • Create P/N – Creates SWE Part Numbers upon request and places orders for requested items; suggests improvement for efficient flow.
    • Metric/KPIs – Helps establish and positively trend Central Purchasing / Supply Chain Metrics
    • Company Policy – Assists in the development of Company Policy, as well as assure compliance with established Policies
    • Morale – Maintain positive morale through communication, actions, and positive use of site assets.
    • Continuous Process Improvement –Working with other departments, vendors, and other SWE locations, monitors/ evaluates/ revises processes and procedures to assure a culture of Continuous Improvement.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor degree in business or accounting preferred; alternatively high school graduation plus 3 years of related experience.
    • Experienced in Purchasing and Negotiating.
    • Experienced in utilizing manufacturing databases (i.e. MRP)
