Summary
Southwest Electric is looking for a Class A CDL Truck Driver to drive a truck with a capacity up to 40,000 pounds to transport materials to and from specified destinations such as the shop and customer locations. Must secure the load for traveling, tarp the equipment to protect the transported equipment from wet weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Help load/unload and ship motors and accessories.
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Follow safety rules and/or guidelines while performing daily work.
- Complete process control records.
- Verifies load against shipping papers.
- Relay pertinent nameplate information back to the plant upon pick up of motors.
- Maintains electronic truck log according to state and federal regulations.
- Loads and unloads truck in a proper and safe manner.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various overhead cranes, forklifts, coil lifter & various handheld power tools.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities on all company equipment.
- Support supervisors with various other plant assignments as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of commercial truck driving experience
- Class A CDL license
- Flatbed: 1 year (Preferred)
- Willingness to Travel: 50% (Preferred)
