Sr. AutoCAD Design/Drafter

Summary

Provide technical support, manufacturing instructions, and drawings related to electrical controls and equipment installed on custom switchgear.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated experience and high proficiency working with AutoCadto create mechanical designs that meet various standards, codes and customer requirements.
• Review customers’ specifications and review with engineering to determine requirements with respect to control equipment.
• Review electrical control wiring diagrams and/or circuits on incoming equipment to determine the necessary changes required to meet the customers specification.
• Provide technical support for shop floor personnel on controls-related issues.
• Confer with engineering staff to resolve problems and develop new cost-effective methods.
• Interface with personnel developing quotations and provide guidance and recommendations with regard to controls equipment.
• Mechanically sound, must know how to use hand tools. E.g. wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, drills, impacts, torque wrenches,
• Must be willing to work overhead and in a bent position.
• Knowledge of Machine G & M code a plus or will be trained.
• Continually work in a safe manner in compliance with Safety rules and guidelines.

Requirements

• Associates degree in a technical program (electrical/mechanical) using AutoCad software, or high school diploma/GED and 4 years working experience as a Drafter/Designer.
• Experience reading and creating electrical control wiring diagrams and various forms to include but not limited to physical wiring diagrams, elementary wiring diagrams and schematic diagrams.
• Must be able to pass nationwide criminal background check and drug screen.

Salary

• Salary: $21.00 – $30.00 per hour

Schedule

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
