Production Supervisor-Fabrication Shop (3rd shift)

Summary

Southwest Electric Co. is celebrating over 75 years of continuous operations in South Oklahoma City. We are a transformer manufacturer in need of a 3rd shift (7:00pm-5:30am) Production Supervisor in our Fabrication Shop. The ideal candidate will have 5 plus years of quantifiable supervisory experience in a Fabrication Department in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for directing the activities of a work team in meeting daily production schedules in the fabrication of sub-assemblies, or units of an assigned area.
• Performing 30-60-90-day evaluations on all employees, temporary or full time.
• Maintain a high degree of dedication to production goals, efficiency, quality, and safety standards.
• Approve time records, requests for time off and apply policy for attendance program.
• Resolve complaints, discipline, and dismiss employees when needed.
• Develop your team leads while mentoring and leading production needs and scheduling.
• Support staff on assigned project-based work.
• Continually work in a safe manner in compliance with Safety rules and guidelines.
• This position supervises the Fabrication department who are essential in manufacturing transformers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED plus 8 years related Fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment and 5 years as a supervisor in a Fabrication Dept.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate up, down, and across the business.
• Basic knowledge of computers and MS Office programs – Outlook, HRIS system.
• Knowledge of quality standards/procedures
• Continuous Improvement experience, preferred.

Experience

• Manufacturing: 8 year (Preferred)
• Supervisory: 5 year (Preferred)
