Painter (3rd Shift) Specialty


Summary

Detailed oriented, dependable, self-motivated individual capable of reading and understand blueprints and manufacturing instructions for the application of all paint coatings. Coatings include but are not limited to marine grade Zinc, polyurethane and epoxy primer. Load raw material into paint pressure pot and apply coatings per manufacturing instructions and or customer specifications. Manage and maintain paint booth and associated tools.

Responsibilities

  • Paint and apply finishing coats in accordance to blueprints, manufacturing instructions and/or customer specifications.
  • Set-up and maintain work areas and operate painting equipment in accordance to safety procedures.
  • Record and report working hours and material usage.
  • Maintain clean work areas, tool repair, and equipment inventory.
  • Inspect paint jobs and materials, adjusting colors and fixing defects.
  • Read and understand manufacturing processes as it applies to painting.
  • Read, verify and understand bill of material (BOM).
  • Follow production schedule.
  • Load raw material into paint pressure pots
  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend the thickness of paint in mil. gauges.
  • Safely operate crane, pallet jack and forklift.
  • Must be able to follow direction, take constructive criticism, and maintain focus and a keep a positive attitude.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);

Two plus years related experience and/or training.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information to employees within the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, divide, in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense to practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully an individual shall have basic computer knowledge.
