Summary

Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment and provide a variety of plant maintenance support for ongoing manufacturing operations by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to the following:

  • Perform repair/preventative maintenance of equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanic drives and power transmission equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric, air systems, and hydraulic mechanical systems.
  • Perform pump repair and pipe fitting as required.
  • Help set up new machines implement upgrades to support the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain all plant electrical systems.
  • Perform maintenance on forklifts, manlifts and various other gas and electrical motorized equipment.
  • Maintain all maintenance related records.
  • Perform general plumbing, and building repairs as required.
  • Ability to work in a TEAM environment.
  • Safely maintain various overhead cranes, forklifts, coil lifter, enerpac hydraulic system, and various hand held power tools.
  • Maintain wire and stick welding equipment, brazing and cutting torches.
  • Maintain cutting and other machine shop equipment.
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout, confined space, electrical safety and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, effective team player.
  • Perform preventative and predictable maintenance activities on all company equipment.
  • Maintain and operate vacuum ovens, TTR tester, and manlifts.
  • Operate the ABVAC oil system.
  • Perform welding and brazing operations
  • Support supervisors with various other plant assignments as needed.
  • Ability to identify potential maintenance problems, and recommend potential solutions.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and connections.
  • Reading and interpreting repair instructions.
  • Ability to read and complete various schematics.
  • Provide emergency service when on call.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

3 years’ experience in repairing and maintaining electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical systems and performing preventive maintenance programs; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively between vendors, customers, employees or management of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual shall have basic computer competence and the ability to work with common software such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
