Summary

Assures SWE locations purchase and receive materials on time and at economical costs. Prepare national contracts for items where applicable.

Responsibilities

  1. Use of MRP – Utilizes current SWE MRP module and other tools; suggests improvement for efficient flow of purchasing goods and materials. Communicates to individual sites Purchase Orders and date of delivery. Confirms delivery with vendor 3 days prior to expected date.
  2. Provide Economy – Identifies materials that are shared amongst divisions. Researches potential vendors for ability to service multiple locations at an economic measure. Consults Operations and Engineering where applicable for vendor selection.
  3. Create P/N  – Creates SWE Part Numbers upon request and places orders for requested items  ; suggests improvement for efficient flow.
  4. Metric/KPIs –  Helps establish and positively trend Central Purchasing / Supply Chain Metrics  
  5. Company Policy  – Assists in the development of Company Policy , as well as assure compliance to established Policies
  6. Morale – Maintain positive morale through communication, actions, and positive use of site assets. .
  7. Continuous Process Improvement – Working with other departments, vendors, and other SWE locations, monitors/ evaluates/ revises processes and procedures to assure a culture of Continuous Improvement.
  8. Maintain a Safe Work Environment –Employees are responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment through the effective implementation of engineered safeguards and safety training.
  9. Other Duties – Continually work in a safe manner in compliance with Company Environmental, Health, and Safety rules and guidelines.

 

Additional Responsibilities

Support staff on assigned project based work.

 

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor degree in business or accounting preferred; alternatively high school graduation plus 3 years related experience.

Experienced in Purchasing and Negotiating.

Experienced in utilizing manufacturing databases (i.e. MRP)

Working Conditions

  1. Generally an office environment.
  2. This position requires frequent walking visits to manufacturing areas, both indoors and outdoors.
  3. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds..
