Summary

Coordinates the daily activities of test floor personnel, ensuring compliance to Company, industry, and customer specifications; participates in the planning activities of test floor equipment purchases; participates in the development and/or revision of test procedures; provides technical assistance as required to engineering, manufacturing, and sales personnel, as well as to customers.

Responsibilities

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Monitors production plan and develops Test department employee schedules to ensure on-time completion of product tests.

2. Works with the Quality Manager to ensure a safer working environment by the use of effective safety related engineering controls. Helps to ensure safe work practices by providing training which places an emphasis on the safety of the employees and visitors.

3. Maintains test equipment in good condition.

4. Coordinates preventive maintenance to minimize down time due to unplanned equipment failure.

5. Stays up to date with current technology and standard industry test requirements (such as IEEE).

6. Recommends improvements and upgrades to test equipment in order to stay compliant with industry expectations and norms.

7. Complies with the Quality Assurance program. Leads/Assists in RCA of failures and installation of Corrective Actions

8. Investigates and resolves test equipment problems in a timely manner, recognizing the urgent nature of down time in a production process.

9. Assists in the development of alternative methods and procedures to solve problems and meet changing market opportunities.

10. Assist as necessary in the process of resolving disputes with customers.

11. Helps to ensure the accuracy of measurements through the implementation and maintenance of an effective equipment calibration program for the division.

12. Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Support staff on assigned project based work.

2. Continually work in a safe manner in compliance with Company Environmental, Health, and Safety rules and guidelines.

Requirements

1. Education and/or Experience – Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering or a related engineering field; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
