Oversees, coordinates, and prioritizes all motor repair and service in the shop and field including winding, clean up, mechanical inspection and machining operations, field service troubleshooting, removal, installation, and commissioning.
Communicates daily with VP/General Manager regarding service center operation, job scheduling, repair problems, customer concerns, employee performance, and other matters, as deemed appropriate.
Supervises a team of production supervisors, shop, and field service employees directly involved in the electric motor and associated electrical equipment field activities.
Directs all service center supervisors and personnel in proper safety procedures related to their duties, including use of proper PPE.
interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Oversees the priority scheduling of all service work, including field service “rush” jobs, and routine repair jobs.
Coordinates all inner-departmental work toward job completion within the defined and approved work scope.
Manages both hourly and salary workforce by mentoring and providing ongoing career coaching.
Monitors, manages, and reports out on all P&L activities including day to day operations, capital expenditures, job costing analysis, inventory control, indirect costs and operational deficiencies.
May require customer site visits occasionally.
