Load Tap Changer (LTC) Maintenance, Uprgrading, and Retrofitting

Southwest Electric Company has the tremendous advantage of being a Power Transformer Rewind company and thus has worked on most LTC’s ever built. Our skilled, factory trained technicians have performed routine maintenancce, upgrading and retrofitting on hundreds of LTC’s of every make and model.

Southwest Electric Company can bring any needed parts to your site to be able to handle any needed repairs or upgrades to your LTC.

Detailed Services Offered:

• Drain LTC into SWE supplied containment
• Replace Contacts, check mechanism alignment and timing
• If needed repalce tap heads and phase moldings
• Replace/Upgrade the entire mechanism on some units such as GE LRT-200
• Check relays for proper functioning
• Regasket barrier board if perimeter gasket is damaged
• Replace barrier board if cracked
• Regasket leads through barrier board
• Repalce all LTC compartment, throat, access and door gaskets
• Install LTC filtration system
• Retrofit with Reinhausem RMV-II mechanism
• Modify preventive auto transformer if required
• Manufacture a transition cubicle for new RMV-II
• Refill unit with new oil
