Southwest Electric is one of the few electric motor repair or generator repair shops in the Southwest and Plains states with in-house coil rewind capabilities. Our form coil department can provide short lead coil availability for both in-shop and on-site motor rewind requirements. Local stocks of wire are maintained at each service center to support customer needs for quick response on random wound AC motors and DC armatures.
Shop capabilities include the ability to lift 40 tons. We have lathes with capacities up to 55" swing, 125 ton horizontal press, dynamic balancing equipment with the capacity to handle rotors up to 25,000 lbs. and 22 ft. in length, an 8 ft. Vacuum Pressure Impregnation System, a 2,000 HP dynamometer and test capabilities to run motors at voltage through 7,000 volts.
